The Authors

Fuqua  |  Fuqua has been watching and playing sports for a very long time. In college, he studied the history of race in the United States. Naturally, he now believes he is qualified to write on both topics...at the same time. He is a Philadelphia sports fan. In his lifetime he has purposely thrown up on at least three people at sporting events but has still not garnered any media attention.

Clemente  |  Like so many with potential, the unfortunate circumstances of Clemente’s background impeded his future in athletics. Born into the harsh reality of a two-parent household of successful and caring black professionals, Clemente was often forced to stay at home reading books and practicing music to appease his completely non-absent parents. While wasting his time with such nonsense, he lost countless opportunities to play pickup basketball void of any actual fundamentals. This heavy push in the education game forced Clemente into a way of life he never wanted for himself – college. He hopes to redeem himself by being yet another black guy who focuses a large portion of his life on sports.

PAUL ROONEY  |  Virtually all sports writers are former student athletes who did not have what it takes to make it at the professional level. Paul Rooney is no different. A little bit of Paul Mooney, a little bit of Dan Rooney: Mr. Rooney has played and followed a number of sports and their respective leagues for over two decades. He is a bigger loser than the lame contestants on that NBC reality television show. Luckily, Mr. Rooney attended class regularly. And now, he knows enough about grammar and stuff to pretend to be among the elite in athletics.
